let me shop for you: trends for fall 2018
Hi everyone! Today I wanted to share my favorite fall trends for this upcoming season. I know that it can get harder to find clothes when its warmer during the day but suddenly chilly at night, so I have decided to shop for you all and show you guys my favorite pieces (and some trends that I have not completely decided on) for this season.
1. Short Puffers
Puffers are a perfect way to stay warm during the fall since they are often made with a down material that is made for colder weather, but the shorter or cropped puffers add a cuter and more sophisticated look than the down to your knees down jackets that you need for the winter (if you are living anywhere but California). Something I saw a lot of during 2018 Fashion Week were models and influencers wearing puffers in brighter colors like red, pink velvet, or green. I like this trend because it is useful since and won't turn into a fad any time soon.
2. Plaid Bottoms
Plaid has been a trend for the fall and winter time for a long time, however, I have been seeing a rise in plaid bottoms that are not super tight and instead have sort of a flare to them. This look is similar to pants that were worn in the 70s (and if you didn't know, a lot of 70s trends are coming back into style) and can be super cute with a turtleneck or chunky sweater. You can also style these pants with a plain tank top and cardigan sweater if it is not too cold where you live.

3. Cardigans are BACK
I used to wear cardigans so much when I was in middle school and I don't really know why I stopped. With the rise of hoodies, crewnecks, and quarter zips I think everyone forgot about cardigans for a while but don't worry because they are a huge trend for this season. Pair with dresses, skirts, and jeans for a cozy but comfortable outfit.
4. Fun Hair Accessories
Scrunchies have been in style for a while now, but they are so much for than a trend that will disappear eventually. Scrunchies do not damage your hair as much and are a much better substitute for standard thin hair ties. Pick up some fall scrunchies in colors like hunter green, mustard, maroon, or navy. Another trend that I love is wearing a fuzzy headband to keep your ears and head warm during those colder days of fall. Whether you have short or long hair these headbands look so cute and do a really good job of making sure you stay cozy and warm.

5. Rainbow Jewelry
I know this one might seem a little bit random, but I decided to include it because I have been seeing it on so many sites lately. I mostly have been seeing rainbow jewelry in the form of rings, and while at first, I didn't really like them, I have started to love the trend. Here are a few of my favorite rainbow picks if you want to spice up your jewelry for the fall!
6. Animal Print
I predicted that this would be a trend a long time ago (I think I even talked about it in a blog article) and let me tell you, it is not going away any time soon. Stock up a snakeskin patterned bodysuit, cheetah boots, or really anything that has an animal print on it and you will be perfectly following this seasons trends.
7. The Bulky Sneaker
Ok, I have very mixed feelings about this one but I decided to include it because some people can really rock it. Balenciaga, Channel, Dior, etc have debuted their bulky sneaker collection and if this trend really speaks to you, go for it. Pair with jeans, spandex, or even dresses to spice up your look. If you are curious about this trend but afraid to try it, opt for a sneaker that is all white for a more mellow look.
8. The Spandex or Bicycle Short Trend
This is another trend that I am really not necessarily a fan of, but if your style is more sporty, this could be for you. Kim Kardashian has been a fan of pairing big t-shirts with a belt and topping off the look with bicycle shorts. This trend is everywhere, so if you want to try it for the fall, you can pair it with an oversized blazer and big sunglasses and you will be looking like all the models of Fashion Week. One issue with this look is that it can look like you are running to the gym, but if you don't have a problem with that, then go for it!
R: Just some inspiration on how to wear this trend.
9. Corduroy/Jean Dresses
This is a fall trend that I think is perfect for the days when you want to wear a dress (let's face it-it is so much easier to not wear pants) but you don't want to wear a floral or polka dotted dress that was all the rage during summer. Pair these jean or corduroy dresses with a white long sleeve under it for extra warmth, botties, and a cardigan and you have an outfit you will get so many compliments on!

10. Tweed Sets
These sets give me major 80s-90s Barbie vibes. I don't really know if that makes sense, but models like Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner have been photographed in designer sets that encapsulate this vibe. Wear a tweed skirt with a black turtleneck for a sexy and stylish night out look, or pair a set together for an important meeting that will let everyone know that you are a boss. Here are my favorite sets for this season.
There you have my top trends for this fall. I will be doing a Lookbook soon of my favorite fall outfits and which will include ways to style these trends. I hope you all enjoyed and this gave you some inspiration on outfits to wear on your nights out, to class, or to hang out with friends!
