Winter Skin Care Routine

There is nothing more awful than waking up one morning with dry skin and redness because of the change in weather.

Since I have been dealing with dry skin since I was little, I wanted to give you guys my current skincare routine.

I am guilty of forgetting to wash my face and moisturize but this is a crucial step regardless if you have dry, combination, or oily skin.

For cleanser, I use the Fresh Soy Cleanser which has been my go-to because it is gentle yet refreshing. You can purchase it at Sephora for $38.00. A great dupe that is more affordable is the Cetaphil Gentle Face Cleanser, $9.49 from Target.

Moisturizer is key to combating dry skin and leaving you feeling hydrated. My holy-grail moisturizer has been First Aid Beauty's Ultra Repair Cream. The title truly says it all and it is safe to use on all skin types, even those who struggle with eczema or other skin irritations. This product ranges in price from $12-36.00 (Sephora) depending on the size. I apply this all over my face at night and find that it will revitalize my skin when I wake up in the morning.

Another product I use for deep hydration is coconut oil. It is natural and soothes any irritations that may come from the change in weather. Whenever I have dry skin I apply some to the area and it does not leave it oily but actually heals the dryness. I love the Kopari Products because they are natural and do not test on animals, but coconut oil can be found in most grocery stores. You can purchase this at Kopari Beauty's website for $44.00. (I know this is expensive but this bottle will last you for an entire year or more.)

Last, but not least face masks!

I love a simple face mask that I can apply when I want an extra glow during the winter. I have been obsessed with Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask, $58.00 from Sephora. I leave it on for 20-30 minutes and it leaves your skin feeling like butter. I use it once a week, but you can use it up to three times a week for glowy results. Also, the smell is amazing and very calming.

Recently my good friend bought me a face mask collection for my birthday and one that I have been loving is the Peter Thomas Roth Blue Marine Algae Intense Hydrating Masque (Peter Thomas Roth's website, $52). This one is very hydrating and you do not even need to use a moisturizer after this mask. I leave it on for 10-15 minutes for optimal results.

There you have it, my simple but effective skin care routine for leaving your skin hydrated and soft during the cold winter months!
